Savio Needs Assessment & Master Plan
Denver, CO
Savio House is a non-profit Child Welfare agency that began as an orphanage for “wayward boys” in 1966 in the “Red Brick House” on the corner of 4th and Kings Street in Denver. Savio has grown into a 200-employee social service agency serving children and families throughout the entire State of Colorado. Savio now has several buildings that occupy an entire city block, as well as a satellite building near Downtown Denver. The Board of Trustees commissioned The abo co-op to 1) conduct a facility assessment of the physical conditions of the buildings on the main King Street Campus, and 2) perform a needs assessment and master plan to accommodate this growing agency and to consolidate all functions on the King Street Campus.
The abo co-op completed a facility assessment with recommendations for building improvements, code and accessibility compliance, and opinions of probable costs for the following buildings on the Savio Campus: Red Brick House, Dormitory, Dining Hall, CBS Building, and Education Center.
