The Central 70 Project, the redesign of the 10-mile stretch of I-70 between Brighton Boulevard and Chambers Road, includes a 4-acre park over a lowered portion of the interstate. The abo co-op, as part of the P3 Kiewit/Meridian Partners’ Design/Build Team was responsible for the design of 2 buildings on the site. The City and County of Denver (CCD) Building houses public restrooms for Parks & Recreation, storage, a concession/meeting area, utility areas for communication, and pump / electrical rooms. The CDOT building contains an Operator room, a restroom, and rooms for all the C70 Cover electrical and communications. The Abo Group was also responsible for the design of multiple shade structures and an event canopy for the park.
