The abo co-op served as the architect of record and the design project manager for this $24 million design/build renovation. Working closely with the GSA and BOR, the design-build team incorporated an integrated design and construction process utilizing the principles of the Lean Construction Institute to coordinate multiple parties required to keep the project on time and budget, to adhere to design standards, and to maintain quality assurance and quality control throughout all phases of design and construction.

To meet GSA’s Design Excellence criteria, the project goals included a space program and work environment that celebrates the mission of the BOR and provides a state-of-the-art functional and flexible workspace while enhancing collaboration, productivity, communication, comfort, safety, and sustainability.
